TANGO! In the African Bantou language of Kicongo means "The place of gathering" or the "place of coming together".

It was the meaning in Buenos Aires (Argentina), when the descendents of African slaves gathered to dance the Candombe, from which the Tango we know today has evolved, incorporating the Italian, German and Spanish cultures.

With my former partner Bianca, we have created a Dance Studio in Oakland, California, called

TANGO MAGDALENA.
